I think the five, six or seven hours of pain it would take me to run (walk) a marathon have nothing on the itching that is my face!
Evidently the itch is caused by the shaved hairs which a sharp edge scraping on the follicle as it comes back out! Doesn’t seam likely as I have not been shaving for 13 days!
I did find a web site, that says it could be due to a combination of dry skin and a wiry, scraggly Mo. If your Mo is not moisturized or conditioned, it will get dry, brittle, and coarse. During the course of a day, it will rub against your cheeks and chin, causing irritation and itch.
There are some things that will ease the itching I am told;
I should clean my Mo, getting rid of the dead skin cells that are now being filtered by the hairs in my Mo. I will be using a shampoo I am supposed to use a special shampoo for (androgenic) Mo hair as normal shampoo may clog the pores and dry out my face!
After shampooing I should condition the Mo so that it becomes soft and downy (the wife will be pleased).
Then I should moisturize the bloody thing with beard oil. This will adds a nice sheen and it gives it weight and sway.
Finally I should remove any ingrown hairs with tweezers!!!
Seems a bit of a palaver for a month of charity work, next year it’s the marathon for me I think!!
