Blackpool V Leeds
I have realised that my uncle Joe who was a bookie was better at this punditry that I am.
We got a draw last weekend which was better than a loss and we even went up one place in the league so at Christmas we are in fifth place, it has been a while since we were this high up the league at Christmas, but it counts for nought we have to wait until 3 May before we need to take notice of where we are in the league.
So boxing day at the seaside then, not for me I am going to watch Huddersfield Town play Derby before the haters start I like football and the company of several people who support Huddersfield a great man once said “No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.” I don’t hate anyone and I am not about to start now.
Back to Blackpool, last time out we beat them 2-0 at ER prior to that the last three were all Seasiders wins. We have met only forty times and it is very close Leeds 15 Wins Blackpool 14 and 11 draws.
We can go five games unbeaten with a result against a side in poor form on a run of four consecutive losses finding themselves in tenth place in the Championship. That said a Blackpool win would put them level on points with us.
We have managed to keep three clean sheets in the last four games, and at 7/2 to win to nil would be interesting.
Last time against Blackpool we won 2-0 and are 12/1 for a repeat.
Overall, there is little to separate the two sides, and a draw is priced at 12/5. A repeat of United’s 0-0 draw with Barnsley at the weekend is 9/1.
Our form away is not good 2 wins and 4 losses in the last 6.
Blackpool at home are not much better 2 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses and are on a 4 loss streak.
The bookies have Blackpool slight favourites at 11/8 with Leeds 15/8 and the draw 12/5.
So my 1-3 Leeds win McCormack to score first is a respectable 80/1 it has to come in soon!
Brentford, Derby, Manchester City, Newcastle, Celtic and Rangers all to win
