As regular reader will know I like my food and eating out in nice places. I enjoy the whole ambience of eating out and not having to wash up afterwards. you will also know that we are off to Florida at the end of the year. It has been some time since I have been to Florida and last time I was there I remembered eating in some decent place, I also recognise that my tastes and expectations have changed. No longer will it be the Golden arches, the Colonel, Regal burgers or even Peter Pans girl friend, I have matured! Neither will I drink out of red plastic cups or eat from paper plates, the reason for this is simple, I am now a food snob.
I have been researching, I like to think long and as part of this knowledge harvest I have started lurking on a couple of forums, both dedicated to holidays in Florida and specifically to Disney and the theme parks. Some of these forums have threads dedicated to eating while in Florida and these are where I have been lurking and whilst lurking there I have realised that not only am I am a food sob, I am also not as easy to please as most of the contributors to Florida forums.
One contributor posted these pictures and left the following quote “would recommend here it was lovely ”
When I look at these pictures all I see are manky chips and garlic bread, wafer thin fish and food served without any care or consideration.
The person who posted this picture stated “love the orange chicken here it is my most favourite thing to eat and I will admit that I ate it three times on this trip”.
It’s served on a plastic plate how can you eat this thing three times?
Here are some other pictures of “recommended” breakfasts to order.
The are some class places to eat in the theme parks for me I prefer the idea of eating with a knife and fork and off of a china plate and to prove this is possible I have found the following examples of available foods.
Duck two ways, nice!
Proper sticky wings
We can’t eat this well every night or I will have put back on all the weight I’ve lost in preparation for the trip. I think I will become a right anorak and keep a food picture diary.
